Dannagal Young is an Associate Professor of Communication and Political Science and International Relations at the University of Delaware, where she studies media and political psychology. Her recent book Irony and Outrage examines the genres of satire and outrage as the logical extensions of the respective psychological profiles of liberals and conservatives. Young has published over 40 academic articles, and her research has been covered by the popular press, including The Atlantic, The New York Times, Variety, and National Public Radio. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg Public Policy Center and a researcher with the National Institute for Civil Discourse (NICD). Young received the University of Delaware's Excellence in Teaching Award in 2014. She is also an improvisational comedian, performing regularly with ComedySportz Philadelphia since 1999.
