Join Tisch College for a conversation with political strategists, Scott Jennings and Robby Mook, for a breakdown of the first presidential debate.
Scott Jennings is the Founding Partner of RunSwitch Public Relations and a political commentator on CNN. RunSwitch is Kentucky’s largest PR and public affairs firm, providing communications counsel to clients worldwide. Jennings’ career has taken him across the country as part of four presidential campaigns and numerous federal and state races. He served in key roles in both of President George W. Bush’s campaigns before becoming Special Assistant to the President in 2005, serving under top Bush strategist Karl Rove. He held senior campaign positions for U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (’02, ’08, ’14), Congressman Brett Guthrie (’08-present), and Mitt Romney for President (2012). Jennings also writes a regular column for the Louisville Courier-Journal and teaches CVS 0150-08 Special Topics: Modern US Political Campaign Strategy at Tufts this semester.
Robby Mook is a nationally recognized political strategist, who has organized winning organizations at the local, state and national level. Mook served as Campaign Manager for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, where he built a $1 billion, 50-state, 4,500-person organization. He also ran Terry McAuliffe’s winning campaign for Governor of Virginia, U.S. Jeanne Shaheen’s first winning campaign for U.S. Senate, and led the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2012, when Democrats picked up 8 seats. Mook is President of the House Majority PAC as well as a Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and a CBS contributor.
