Join us for a Tufts special event: A Conversation With Diane Hessan, Trustee, J76, A 11 P, and Sol Gittleman, H10, A85P, Alice and Nathan Gantcher University Professor Emeritus and Brighter World Campaign Co-Chair. For four years, Diane Hessan has been in weekly conversation with voters across the United States, culminating in the publication of her new book, Our Common Ground. Based on a recent interview with Tufts Now, what she has learned will surprise you, enlighten you, give you hope, and change the way you think about your fellow Americans. We are less divided than we realize. 

Diane Hessan, Trustee, J76, A11P, an award-winning entrepreneur and innovator in the market research field, is a nationally recognized expert on the American voter. A member of The Boston Globe Editorial Board, she has written extensively about the voices of the electorate. She is the founder and chairman of C Space, the first company to leverage social media for consumer insights. She received her BA from Tufts University and her MBA from Harvard Business School. 

Sol Gittleman H10, ABSP, retired in 2016 after 52 years on the Tufts faculty. He was a professor of German and also taught in the departments of English, History, Drama, and Comparative Religion. From 1981 to 2002, he served as university provost. He has written books on German literature, Yiddish literature, American-Jewish literature, American higher education, and American baseball history. He is now the Alice and Nathan Gantcher University Professor Emeritus.
