Where Do We Go From Here: The Policy Behind American Power with Tony Blinken

Join Tisch College for a conversation with foreign policy expert, Tony Blinken. A veteran of two presidential administrations, Blinken was the Deputy Secretary of State under President Obama from 2015 – 2017 where he helped to lead diplomacy in the fight against ISIL, the rebalance to Asia, and the global refugee crisis. He previously served as Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor to President Obama after serving as National Security Advisor to Vice President Biden. From 2002 to 2008, Blinken served as Democratic Staff Director for the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He was also a member of President Clinton’s National Security Council staff from 1994 – 2001.
Currently the co-founder and managing partner of WestExec Advisors, Blinken also serves as managing director of the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and a distinguished scholar at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He is a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times, a global affairs analyst for CNN, and the author of Ally Versus Ally: America, Europe and the Siberian Pipeline Crisis.
