Civic Science: Instilling a Sense of Wonder About Science, Society & Each Other

Dr. Jonathan Garlick is an Oral Pathologist and Professor and Director of the Division of Cancer Biology and Tissue Engineering at Tufts School of Dental Medicine and Professor at Tufts School of Medicine and Sackler Graduate School. Jonathan Garlick’s pioneering work using stem cells to grow oral soft tissues and skin has helped develop new therapeutic approaches for oral health, cancer, wound healing and complications of diabetes. As a Senior Fellow at the Tisch College of Civic Life, he is leading a national initiative in Civic Science to foster inclusive public dialogue on divisive science issues as a bridge towards improving our civic lives.
