Tufts Constitution Day – Free Speech or Premeditated Violence? A Conversation with the Tufts Alum Behind the Landmark Charlottesville Suit

Monday, September 16 | 12 – 1:15 PM| Rabb Room, Tisch College

Tufts welcomes back to campus alumnus Amy Spitalnick, A08, Executive Director of Integrity First for America, for a conversation with Tufts Political Science Professor Debbie Schildkraut on public service and fighting hate through the judicial system. Integrity First for America is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to holding those accountable who threaten longstanding principles of our democracy - including our country's commitment to civil rights and equal justice. Most notably, IFA is the organization supporting Sines v. Kessler, the lawsuit filed by a coalition of Charlottesville community members against the neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and hate groups responsible for the August 2017 violence. Amy previously served as Communications Director and Senior Policy Advisor to the New York Attorney General; Communications Advisor and Spokesperson for the New York City; and Communications Director in the New York State Senate. This event is sponsored by Tisch College, the Office of the Dean of Arts & Sciences, the Office of the President, and the Political Science Department.
