Distinguished Speaker Series: Cecile Richards
Wednesday, March 28 | 8 PM | Cohen Auditorium
Cecile Richards is the president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the largest single provider of reproductive health services in the U.S. Since joining Planned Parenthood, Richards has expanded advocacy efforts to include fighting for access to health care, ensuring that Planned Parenthood played a pivotal role in shaping health care coverage and services for women under the Affordable Care Act. Before Planned Parenthood, she served as deputy chief of staff for House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi. In 2004, she founded America Votes, a coalition of 42 national grassroots organizations working to maximize voter registration, education, and participation.
Cecile Richards is this year’s speaker for Tufts Hillel Merrin Moral Voices, a program designed to expose students to individuals whose courage to raise a moral voice brings attention to injustices around the world. This year’s theme is Reproductive Rights. To find out more about the Merrin Moral Voices program, visit the Tufts Hillel website.
