Tufts Presidential Town Hall with Governor Steve Bullock
Friday, October 11 | 3 PM | Room 104, Barnum Hall
Join Tisch College for a conversation with current candidate for the 2020 Democratic nomination for President, Steve Bullock. Bullock has served as the Governor of Montana for two terms and is the only Democrat running for President who has won a statewide office in a state won by President Trump in 2016, winning reelection even as Trump won Montana by 20 points. As governor presiding over a Republican legislature, Bullock racked up more vetos than any governor in Montana history and was the first governor nationwide to sign an executive order on net neutrality. Bullock has been concerned with the role that money plays in politics; as governor he passed a bipartisan campaign disclosure law and signed an executive order requiring state contractors to disclose their election spending. Prior to serving as Governor, Bullock was Attorney General of Montana, where he challenged the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision. Follow the conversation at #SteveBullockAtTufts.
As part of the 2020 election season, Tisch College will invite and host presidential candidates from both sides of the aisle for informal conversations with the Tufts community. These discussions are intended to promote civic dialogue on important issues and inform students, faculty and staff about candidates’ platforms prior to the election. Tisch College is a nonpartisan institution and does not endorse any candidate.
