COVID-19: Special Requests and Opportunities
As part of Tufts University's response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are partnering with the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) and the Office of Community Relations to compile opportunities for Tufts University faculty, staff, and students to contribute resources and expertise. These requests range from supply needs, to projects that require scientific training, to research opportunities.
We encourage you to explore this list, which will be updated regularly, and to share it with others who may benefit from it or be able to help. If you have questions or or know about a local need that the Tufts community may be able to help with, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Donate Personal Protective Equipment to Tufts Medical Center
The Tufts Medical Center is in need of our PPE and lab supplies, such as:
- eye protection
- precaution gowns
- hand sanitizer
You can find more information, including equipment specifications and instructions on how to donate, on the Tufts Medical Center website. Tufts researchers should contact email@example.com if they have questions or items to donate; the OVPR will facilitate the pick-up and delivery to TMC. The OVPR is coordinating donations in order to document donations that were originally purchased with a grant for reimbursement and reporting purposes.
Partners HealthCare Requesting Laboratory Supplies/Equipment
Institutions in the region are in short supply of COVID-19 testing reagents, supplies, and equipment. They are requesting donations from the community. In particular, we are aware that Partners HealthCare is urgently seeking donations for testing. They are requesting:
- Viral RNA extraction kits from Qiagen and Roche
- Instruments including Roche Magna Pure, Roche 480Z, ABI 7500DX, Qiagen EZ1 Advanced XL, and QIAcube/QIAcube Connect
Please find more details on this website, reach out to the appropriate contact if you have supplies to donate, and share this message with anyone else in the Boston area scientific community who might be able to help.
Additional Supply Donation Platforms
- Mass Bio has launched a portal, Massachusetts Life Sciences Emergency Supply Hub, for anyone able to donate supplies and PPE in Massachusetts
- Find The Masks is collecting information about PPE donation sites and requests all over Massachusetts and the United States
Call for Experienced Lab Volunteers
