Learn about our First-Year Global Programs

Tisch College and Tufts University offer incoming students the opportunity to participate in the Tufts Civic Semester, a transformational first-semester program that combines academic and experiential learning with a focus on community engagement and social and environmental justice. We love chatting with prospective students and families who visit campus for a college tour, during Jumbo Days, or at any other time! Make Tisch College a part of your visit; drop by our offices to learn more about our work; if you’d like to set up an appointment to meet more formally with one of our leaders or staff members when you’re on campus, email tischcollege@tufts.edu.

Serve Others During Orientation

FOCUS is a five-day Pre-Orientation for incoming first-years focused on critical service learning. During FOCUS, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know Tufts, the Greater Boston Area, and your fellow Jumbos all the while creating meaningful relationships with the communities around us.

During FOCUS, you’ll commit to engaging responsibly and actively to support the needs identified by Tuft’s host communities and its representatives. You’ll work in an area of your interest along with a group with other incoming students and two upperclassmen leaders. Visit the FOCUS website.
