Welcome to the New Tisch Website!

Our more modern and user-friendly site will help us better showcase our work; connect with students, faculty, and partners; and promote our mission.

New Tisch Website

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the ways we communicate with audiences at Tufts and beyond, we are excited to launch a new Tisch College website that better reflects and shares our multifaceted efforts to strengthen civic life.

The site is the result of a successful collaboration between the Tisch College communications team with colleagues from Tufts communications and digital services departments, all of whom did extraordinary work to create not just a fresh new look for our web presence, but a thoughtfully structured site that is easier to navigate and highlights the connections between all the different aspects of what we do.

The new website is organized around the three fundamental pillars of Tisch College’s work: Education, Research, and Practice. Under Education, you’ll find information about student programs like the Tisch Scholars and Tufts 1+4, as well as about the growing catalogue of academic courses we offer or support that bring civic learning into Tufts classrooms.

In the Research section, you can learn more about the work of our two main research centers—the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning & Engagement (CIRLCE) and the Institute for Democracy & Higher Education (IDHE)—and about our work supporting community-based research and building the scholarly discipline of Civic Studies.

The Civic Practice section highlights some of the ways in which we turn knowledge into action, bringing it to bear on some of the most pressing problems in our communities and in the world. That includes working closely with community partners near and far, supporting Tufts students tackling the achievement gap for underserved students through early education, and taking our work global with the Talloires Network.

Throughout the site you’ll find not just the latest information about programs, but stories of how student service, faculty research, and community collaborations can effect transformational change. Our improved News page helps you quickly catch up on the latest, including coverage of campus visits by featured speakers like Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, NBC News anchor Lester Holt, and U.S. Representative Joe Kennedy III. Our new “In the News” section highlights some of the ways Tisch College’s work—particularly our research on civic education and youth engagement—is cited in prominent media outlets and informs national conversations about the state of our civic life.

Finally, we hope the new website will help you more easily find the things you’re interested in—whether you’re a student, parent, faculty member, community partner or researcher interested in our work and in our shared mission to create a more just and equitable world. We encourage you to explore the site and get in touch with us if you have any questions, and we thank you for your interest in Tisch College!
