Distinguished Speaker Series Renamed in Honor of Solomonts
Today the Tisch College Distinguished Speaker Series will be renamed in honor of retiring Dean Alan Solomont and his wife Susan. The Susan and Alan Solomont Distinguished Speaker Series at Tisch College will continue to bring to campus (virtually and in person) a diverse group of leaders in civic life, including activists, public officials, authors and journalists. The renaming recognizes Dean Solomont’s innovative leadership of the College and his strong support for establishing and growing the Distinguished Speaker Series over the last seven years. The Solomont Speaker Series designation is made possible by a generous gift from the Solomonts to endow the Series and recognizes the many ways in which Alan and Susan Solomont have served and supported Tufts University and Tisch College over the years.
The newly rechristened Solomont Speaker Series has served as a forum for more than 100 leaders in politics, media, activism, academia, and other fields related to civic life and social impact. Speakers have included Elizabeth Warren, John Lewis, Nancy Pelosi, Al Gore, Susan Collins, Eric Holder, Tarana Burke, John Kerry, Karl Rove, Stacey Abrams, Andy Card, Pete Buttigieg, and Dr. Anthony Fauci.
