We want to hear your voices, and this gathering is an opportunity to share your ideas and concerns with the leadership of Tisch College, the Tisch College staff community, and your fellow students. We will create space to discuss student activism on campus, and the role that Tisch College can have for students. The student voice session is a space for civic engagement through dialogue. This session is not hosted by the Tufts University administration as a whole; instead, it is a chance to connect directly with Tisch College leaders and explore ways we can support you in your civic journeys on campus and beyond.
Our Vision and Potential Outcomes:
This session aims to achieve several key outcomes:
- A shared understanding of Tisch College’s role in supporting your civic engagement
- Constructive dialogue to build trust between Tisch College and students
- Clearer perspectives on how Tisch can respond to on-campus activism
- A platform for students to express their powerful voices in a respectful environment
- Begin to outline future actions that Tisch College can take that align with your engagement goals as students
Why This Session Matters:
Our goal is to create an open, inclusive space where we can collectively explore essential questions like, “What can Tisch do?” and “What is the role of Tisch?” Recent events. especially surrounding on-campus activism related to the conflict in Palestine-Israel, have brought these questions to the forefront. In recognition of these challenges, we are excited to working toward answering these questions collectively, and are committed to actively listening and learning from you to answer these questions.
Session Structure and What You Can Expect:
The session will include small group discussions facilitated by student facilitators to ensure that the conversation remains constructive and respectful. Members of the Tisch College leadership team will be present to listen closely to your thoughts and ideas.
This is your opportunity to help shape how Tisch can better support student civic engagement. We want to be transparent: while we may not be able to act on every suggestion, we are committed to discussing possible next steps, including how we can effectively report back on what we hear.
Additional Engagement Opportunities:
Tisch will also be offering additional student voice sessions in addition to this first in-person student voice session. You’re welcome to join individually, with a group of peers, or as a student group. You can indicate interest in these future sessions on the registration form.
