2025 Presidential Award for Civic Life Honorees
Whether leading participatory action initiatives to address food security, advocating for equity and inclusion through tech and community projects, or championing oral health equity for underserved populations, this year’s award recipients have demonstrated a deep commitment to civic engagement with creativity and dedication.
Honos Civicus Inductees
The Honos Civicus Society selects and publicly recognizes graduating students who engaged in meaningful service and leadership activities or otherwise strengthened civic life on campus and beyond during their time at Tufts. This year, 198 undergraduate and graduate students are inducted.

Longtime friend of Tisch College, Dr. Jim O'Connell is receiving an honorary degree at the Class of 2025 all-university ceremony. Dr. O’Connell and his colleagues established Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) in 1985. BHCHP hosts Tufts University School of Medicine students as part of the Community Service Learning program.
He joined us in Fall 2023 for a Solomont Speaker Series event.
