Tisch at 25: A Civic Reunion for Everyone
This past May we celebrated 25 years of Tisch College and the many ways Jumbos have shaped their communities, and each other, through civic engagement, leadership, and service. Alumni who were Tisch Scholars, IGL students, members of the Leonard Carmichael Society, and more dropped in to reunite, reflect, and engage (and decorate voting reminder postcards!) Thank you to all who joined us.
Lyon & Bendheim Citizenship Award
The 2026 Lyon & Bendheim Citizenship Award was awarded to Lauren Sullivan, J96 and Adam Gardner, A95, for their innovative approach to tackling today’s most pressing environmental and social issues, for their remarkable impact on the green music movement, and for empowering millions to act toward a more sustainable and just future. Sullivan and Gardner (frontman for popular indie band Guster, which formed at Tufts), founded REVERB in 2004 to create a more sustainable, action-oriented music industry.
They received their awards from Dean Dayna Cunningham at a special event on March 9. The conversation was moderated by special guest and Tufts alumnus, Madeline Weir, A20, REVERB’s Director of Impact
Medford Housing Authority Saltonstall Apartments Mural
On June 24, 2026 the Medford Housing Authority hosted a ribbon cutting for the revitalized Saltonstall Apartments! As part of the project, Tufts y students designed and painted a mural for the residents as part of a spring 2026 Tisch College course led by Audrey Carver, A22.
The course explored questions like, how do we engage community members in the art design process? How do we reflect the community in our work? How do we enter a community space with authenticity and respect? The final result was this beautiful piece!
