James Fisher

Biography

James J. Fisher serves as the Researcher of the Generous Listening and Dialogue Center (GLADC) at Tisch College. In this capacity, he conducts research on listening and dialogue frameworks (historical and contemporary), assists in the planning and implementation of programming, and provides trainings. He is particularly interested in the intersection of listening, dialogue, and peacebuilding in global education initiatives. He has experience working in the U.S. and abroad in governance and educational research.

James is also a Ph.D. Candidate at Ohio University, focusing on education governance in West Africa and the Atlantic World. He holds a B.A. in Black World Studies and History from Miami University and an M.A. in History from Ohio University. James is interested in broadening understandings of the connections between education governance, civic-oriented dialogues, and peacebuilding globally.
