Apply to the Tisch Scholars Program

Program Eligibility

• Current first-years and sophomores at Tufts are eligible to apply, though the Scholars program is designed to have the strongest impact on students who participate for the full three years.
• Applicants must be on campus for the 2026-27 academic year to participate in the year-long Scholars foundation course and as an integral member of the cohort. In addition, current sophomores who apply must also be on-campus for the 2027-28 academic year.
• Applicants must be able to fit a 4 credits course in their Fall 2026 schedule and a 3 credits course in their Spring 2027 schedule. In subsequent semesters, the Scholars seminar is 2 credits.
• Applicants must be able to commit to working 8 hours per week with a local community organization for the 2026-27 academic year.
• Applicants must be able to attend an on-campus Orientation in late April/early May and an off-campus overnight cohort retreat in Fall 2026 (date TBD).
• We invite applicants from all academic majors or intended majors to apply! 

Application Process

To apply to be a 2026-27 Tisch Scholar, please fill out our online application which includes short essay questions and a resume upload. Tisch College staff and current Tisch Scholars will review applications and schedule interviews with selected candidates. Scholars will be notified of their acceptance into the program by mid-March. In April, after confirming their spot in the program, First-Year Scholars interview with community organizations and receive their placement for the 2026-27 academic year.
