Honos Civicus for Doctor of Physical Therapy Programs

Honos Civicus celebrates and publicly recognizes graduating students who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to community service and civic engagement during their studies in the Tufts University Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Inductees have the opportunity to celebrate and reflect on their community involvement while creating an alumni network of professionals who share a meaningful, continued commitment to civic life and social impact through their careers in public health.

Application Information by Program

  • Tufts University DPT Seattle students who wish to join Honos Civicus must have: 

    • A demonstrated commitment to public service and civic engagement.  
    • Leadership and dedication within civic life activities (including service, advocacy, and other social, racial and health justice endeavors). 
    • Made a positive impact. 
    • An outstanding record of professionalism and ethical behavior. 
    • A strong academic record. 
       

    Benefits 

    Honos Civicus inductees will receive: 

    • Recognition at the DPT Seattle December graduation ceremony, with a notation in the program and an Honos Civicus pin for the commencement gown. 
    • Features on the Tisch College website and other Tufts University publications. 
    • Membership in the Honos Civicus alumni group, an alumni network of civically active health professionals. 
       

    Timeline 

    The application timeline for the Class of 2026 will be: 

    • August 1, 2026 – Applications open 
    • August 31, 2026 – Applications due 
    • Mid-September  – Announcement of Class of 2026 Honos Civicus Society
    • December 18 – Honos Civicus inductees recognized at the DPT Seattle graduation
