Halloween on the Hill

Tufts LCS recently re-initiated the annual Halloween on the Hill tradition, which aims to bring families from the Medford/Somerville community to engage in Halloween activities and fun with volunteers from Tufts University. This year, LCS, in collaboration with Tufts Athletics, will be hosting this event again!

Halloween on the Hill will be on October 27 from 1:30 - 3:30 pm! We will be located at Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center (161 College Ave). We hope to see you there! Kids of all ages and families are welcome. Come ready for fun, performances, and candy! Costumes are encouraged!

LCS Member Appreciation

We look forward to continuing the LCS membership appreciation brunches that we began hosting last year. Be on the lookout for another brunch coming up THIS FALL!

Community Day

Community Day is an annual Tufts tradition that celebrates arts, innovation and community. Every year, members of the Medford and Somerville communities join us on campus, along with students, staff, and faculty for a day of live entertainment, family friendly activities, and food. Community partners (including non-profits and municipal resource organizations) as well as student organizations often table on this day, giving members of the community at large an idea of the diversity of opportunities found in Medford and Somerville.

Day of Service

LCS’ 2nd annual Day of Service was on Saturday, April 6 from 10AM - 3PM! LCS engaged more than 100 students to meaningfully serve our community partners in Somerville and Medford. We had several service sites — both on-campus and off-campus — with work centering on various themes such as environmental sustainability, education, and health. We look forward to hosting our 3rd Day of Service in Spring 2025!

Partnership with Jumbos For Non-Profits

The Somerville Homeless Coalition and Tufts Jumbos for Non-Profits recently hosted a Sleep-out event on Friday, November 17, to raise awareness about hunger and homelessness.  During this event, there was programming to learn about the issue of homelessness in the Somerville community. Then, some members of the event slept on the Residential Quad of Tufts in solidarity with the homelessness community of Somerville.

Senior Appreciation Event

At the end of the 2023-2024 school year, LCS hosted its second annual Senior Appreciation Event, honoring our graduating seniors of the Class of 2024 and thanking them for the work they contributed to LCS and neighboring communities throughout their Tufts journey. Thank you Class of 2024! Congratulations on your graduation!
