
Biography
Sunah Hyun, Ph.D., is a developmental psychologist and community-based researcher at Tisch College of Civic Life, where she designs creative evaluation strategies and assessment systems that advance the College's mission of civic engagement and community partnership. As an Asian, female, and non-U.S. citizen researcher in the U.S. context, her work is shaped by a strong commitment to bridging academic research with local communities, informing policy, and creating innovative strategies that support students and partners from diverse backgrounds and identities. Prior to joining Tisch, she completed an NIH-funded T32 postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital, where she examined psychosocial stress across developmental stages and cultural contexts to address disparities in mental health outcomes. She holds a B.A. from the University of Washington, an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Ph.D. from Tufts University. Beyond her professional role, Sunah is a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and mother to a warm-hearted daughter and a beloved dog who remains forever in her heart.
