
Biography
Dr. J. Cody Nielsen (he/him/his) is Assistant Professor of Higher Education, coordinator of the HESA program at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo Michigan and Executive Director of Convergence Strategies, and is currently a Non-Resident Fellow at the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life Dr. Nielsen is a national expert on issues related to religious, secular, and spiritual culture and identity and frequently consults around these and other issues related to inclusion and equity. He holds a Ph.d in Higher Education Administration from Iowa State University, Masters degrees from the University of Northern Iowa (Mental Health Counseling, and Wesley Theological Seminary (Divinity). A passionate educator with a heart of justice issues, Dr. Nielsen is serving as a Fellow within the Tisch College. He lives in Minneapolis as a part of raising his 11 year old son Levi.
