Biography
Sam leads and manages the Civic Studies Program, working on curriculum development and programmatic governance, advising, teaching, and doing transdisciplinary research. Sam received her doctorate in Science, Technology, and Society (STS) from Virginia Tech in 2019. Her research interests include civic science, the politics and democratization of knowledge, institutional logics, the relationship between theory and practice, and community-engaged research.
